In basketball, if you are dribbling the ball and then it bounces off you (lets say your foot) and it starts rolling on the ground, can you pick it up and continue to dribble or would that be considered a double dribble?

  1. Ya, its a double dribble.

  2. no the referee will call it kick bal n the other team will get it

  3. Double Dribble

  4. Double dribble. But say if that happened to somone else and you picked up the ball, then you can dribble it.

  5. Yeah it would be considered a doule dribble because you lost the dribble the first time and you picked it up again (hence double) to dribble.

  6. yes you can pick it up- as soon as the ball starts to roll away from the person who was originally dribbling the ball, it is considered a loose ball therefore no one is exactly on offense nor defense. it's kind of like jump ball when the ball is in the air- no one has possession of the ball and either team has a right to gain possession.
