Can you convert a 220 Volt electric stove's plug to a 110 Volt electric stove's plug?

  1. If the outlet has four prongs, than it is actually 220v and 110v. the same goes for dryer outlets. if you want to switch to a 110v outlet for a gas stove it would be quite easy to tie in to the right three wires (two plus ground), though best to consult an electrician if not sure which. Or go to home depot and pick up an adapter, it looks like a stove plug on one end and has a standard outlet on the other like an extention cord, it is just an adapter and dosn't need any components to convert voltage. Probably costs about $40.


  2. search on ebay for a voltage converter plug which got a builtin circuit which would change the voltage from 110/120 V to 220/240 V or vice virsa...Hope will help you.
