Can you convince me?

please convince me that the idea of patriarchy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patriarchy) is old fashioned, inappropriate and inconvenient these days.

sorry no can do. I believe that the foundation of the family should be the fathers, the mother/or just the spouse can support her family when need be but i think that the father should be the main source of income. Especially if you have a family with kids at home, this will leave the mother free to be able to raise your kids the way you want them to be raised. People these days are always complaing about their kids being spoilt and wanting the latest toys and that they have no manners and appreciation for things. Well maybe thats because they havnt been taught properly, or the parents just ride them off as one more thing to deal with. Over all i think that the idea of patriarchy is not old fashioned and will continue to shape the good and wholesome families in our society, cause it really needs it.

Not only is it outdated but mostly really followed by the pioneers seeking refuge in the u.s.  Most cultures have been based on a matriarcal society.  A woman was no better than a piece of furniture, now we are an equal part of society.

It is old fashion and inconvenient these days.  I have 4 children and a wife that stays at home with them; thus, we live on my income only (2 if I work two jobs).  In today’s world it takes two incomes to live comfortably.  My wife chooses to stay at home and it is extremely rewarding for her and the kids.  Unfortunately, the woman’s rights and activist groups decided that it was not appropriate for her to do this and she has to be at work whether she likes it or not.  In these times, a lot of families do not have the choice we have where I (the father) am the breadwinner.  So in reality, these activist groups took choices away from mothers who want to stay at home.  

I believe the reason for this is to promote child care and expose children to people in the psychology field at a very young age; like a marketing scheme.  They want people to depend on their profession.  The people that are in these lines of work could not complete a legitimate science curriculum and Universities pretty much hand these types of degree’s out to whoever can afford to attend the college.

BUT, you're not getting my kids ;)

its totally old fashoin, its the 21st century. women can be the primary source of income too.
