i have a black ceramic whirlpool cooktop its not huge but its noticeable and i cook on it everyday so I think the same goes for your cooktop hope that helps!!

If the crack goes over one of the elements it is dangerous. Those glowing wires are bare wire at 220 volts. A spill that gets through the glass would cause a short.

I have seen people use them with a crack in a corner.
