Question:

Can you copyright a taste?

Copyrighting can go from a logo, a sound, and color. But taste? Is this true?

My cousin was telling me about how McDonald's and Burger King can actually have a universal copyright on their taste of their food; it must taste exactly the same as the other and if any other company tries to copy them, that company can be sued.

  1. Patent/trademark, if it is a unique flavour. The process has to be unique. You can't file to patent a known taste, or one that varies, like the taste of orange juice.

  2. No.  Your cousin doesn't know what he's talking about.

  3. noo
