  1. If you are spry enough to cut it at home, properly, (if not, order it to size), and you don't have the know-how or technology to round the edges, there is another option.

You can put it on with laminating adhesive. I don't know where you get it, but ALL cabinet shops use this neoprene-based glue.

(If you do not know how to laminate, ask someone who does. Or else, you will get a lumpy surface, that doesn't stick well.)

Then, you can use wood, molding, or anything else, to border the (sharp) edges. Just make sure they are level with the top. Properly apllied to the wood substrate, you could even glue metal or aluminim strips to the sides, with silicone adhesive.

Unless you are using a thicker sheet, gravity alone is not recommended for holding down your new top. Even a lesser adhesive,(tub sealant, etc) properly applied , will be better than nothing. Just make sure it is spread evenly.

  2. You pic a hard metal to work with.  Hope your table is sqaure.  The easiest way would be to just cut pieces the same as each side and the top.  Drill some holes and s***w it to your table with ss screws.  Then fasten some corner molding.  If square you can get a sheet larger and bend the sides down after cutting out the corners and have someone braze/tig the corners so that it sets right over the table you have now.  I am not sure that any soldier you would have at home would stick to ss.  The second way would be better just practice to get your demensions with a large sheet of paper.

  3. It would be easier :) Mosaics require less cutting, or at least cutting that doesn't involve big tiles. You can buy a cheap tile cutter at your local home depot, lowes, home improvement store, etc.

As for stainless steel goes, that will require cutting, smoothing edges, will be very dangerous,  etc. etc. lol.

    But good luck! :)

  4. you will have to have it done at a sheet metal fabrication business. you would not likely be able to bend this material like you could do with tin aluminum. it takes special machines, unless you are very creative like me. it ain't cheap, my friend but it lasts a long time.

  5. Look for a commercial kitchen supply company as most commercial kitchens have stainless steelwork tops. They will be able to cut bend weld and grind to the specification you require. They should be also able to advise on how to fix. Very important thing to remember, Make sure the table is bone dry and the steel has now oils on it or the two will not glue together. To glue my first choice would be a standard contact adhesive but the table would need to be very smooth and flat. second would be a proprietary good quality no nails glue

  6. i work with stainless steel a lot and it would be real easy depending on the size of ur table u might need 2 or 3 sheets what u need to do is weld the 2 sheets together and grind down the welds until its flat with the rest of the sheet then u need to set the sheets on the table and on the bottom side with a sharpie trace around the table then u need a plasma cuter to cut out ur design then grind down ur cuts until there smooth so u don't cut urself i imagine u can't do this urself so go to a metal working shop and tell them what u want done and they might do it they might not want to waste the time
