Can you cover a prefabsteel arch building with earth without it falling down? What if you shotcrete it first?

If not could you safely berm it with earth?

Neither is practical without a building specifically designed for such.

the building is going to be designed for a certain roof load including the weight of the structure itself.  those loads don't go away simply because you put dirt on the roof.  The metal building design would need to accomodate these loads.

Typically, the columns are designed to carry roof loads and light weight purlins are framed between columns.  these will not be able to resist the thrust of earth bermed against the building.

Why not explore a "rammed-earth" building?
