  1. Yes

  2. hi mate

sorry, when running either crossfire or sli you need to use the same model of card(s),the brands can be different (xfx,club3d ect) however the cards need to be the same

also make sure that neither of the cards are overclocked versions, its allright for both to be "oc" however if one is overclocked and the other is not then this may be a problem, you could underclock the card using a program such as the "ati tool" or "n-tune" for nvidia based cards, and this would bring the core and memory clock speeds back to the stock speeds

the main issue with using a HD4870x2 with a HD4870 is the running a twin gpu with a single gpu,the crossfire configuration works by having two gpu,s running at the same speed ,in this configuration you would have one card(4870x2) running significantly faster than the HD4870 with the single gpu

personally i would run the HD4870x2 on its own, this is in essence a crossifre set up within a single card unit

               any problems let me know

                           good luck mate !

  3. no... cards need to be the same model and these are not.

  4. Maybe.

  5. i wouldn't see why not they are the same gpu's

  6. Yes you can. They have to be clocked at the same speeds.

I'm not sure how much of a performance increase the setup will give over a standalone 4870x2 though. You'll need to be running Vista as XP only sees 2 GPUs plus you'll need a good power supply

  7. IMPOSSIBLE  = I+M=POSSIBE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
