Is it possible to curve a bullet horizontally(Could a bullet and/or gun be made in a way that makes it possible to curve a bullet horizontally without the usage of machinery)? - Please do NOT give simple answers, like : probably, yes, no, impossible. Give an explanation behind your theory.

  1. It is most definitely possible, but you will need to spin the bullet in the direction you want it to turn. Just like a soccer ball or tennis ball, when it travels through the air spinning around the vertical axis it turns in the horizontal plane. So you will have to make the bullet round, as the current shape of the bullet deliberately try not to move in the horizontal plane for obvious reasons. Then you make the bullet spin by either making the one side of the barrel ruff, or making little fins on the bullet to promote spinning.

You will definitely have to remove the current bored grooves in the barrel. What they do is make the bullet turn around the axis in which the bullet was fired. The effect this has is to counter any turn that might be caused by the bullet not being shaped perfectly. So lets say the bullet has a little nudge on the left side which would cause it to move to the left hand side. Now because the bullet is turning, that left side, becomes the top side, which then becomes the right side and then the bottom and so on, moving the bullet a bit in each direction minimizing the overall movement of the bullet.

  2. You have been watching too many Hollywood movies lately.  The things the guild members in Wanted were doing were "movie" or "comic book" physics and are not possible in the real world.

Once a bullet leave the barrel the only forces acting on it are air friction and gravity, so it flies in a parabolic path but there are no lateral forces on it.

Thus, *no* curving bullet paths.  Ever.  Period.

  3. I had tried few online tutoring website and found transwebtutors.com quite interesting,

    you may try this one

  4. Yes, it can be done if the bullet is rifled properly. Normally, the rifling on a bullet keeps it straight, but it can be altered to make the bullet curve.
