Can you cut around 3 mil or 5 mil laminated with scissors?

Question

So if i get 5 mil laminate pouches, and put a little drawing in them, can i still cut around the edges to cut out my little drawing? If something is 5 mil, then isn't the thickness total 10mil? can I still cut with a scissors through that?
