I was going to get a Macbook Pro Z7 galvanized steel computer lock, and it says it is resistant to bolt cutters. Is it really possible to resist bolt cutters in a thin cable like this? It looks pretty legit so I am just curious. Thanks

  1. Anything is possible  (Destructively)

Resistant  does'nt mean  it cannot be snap in two it just means it will take longer to do so it is like water  resistant  watches it can stand up to a certant pressure then after  that point it fails dramatically.. if your looking for something that withstand that kind of pressure. To tell the truth every thing in this world could be broken or destroyed  even diamonds the hardest substance in the world can be destroyed it weakness is another diamond  .

  2. should be childs play that, for the bolt cutter

that you mention galvanized steel & not hardened steel

only that hardened steel may need tool steel or high speed steel jaws

    add:

i have checked link to item,

    http://www.tryten.com/products/macbookpr...

The Tryten MacBook Pro Cable Z7 is made of rugged Aircraft grade galvanized multi-stranded steel, which resists cutting with tools like bolt cutters. >> sales pitch that & btw. thieves are not such dumb heads to buy that

    a small bolt cutter, http://www.toolbarn.com/product/ridgid/1...

should do the job, & should it fail (highly doubtful !)

the 18" handle is next ...
