  2. If you are trying to do odd flips and things though and you land on your head, a safety net won't do you much good.

However, if you're afraid of flipping off, then you should.

Or if you have young children on it.

I never had a net when I was a kid and my friends and I were on trampolines. We didn't have spring-covers, either, though.

  3. Yes you should always get a safety net. Trampolines are not the best way to stay safe. Make sure you have practice before doing any crazy flips. The net is grest because it will catch you before you fall off and that would hurt a lot. Keep in mind a trampoline can paralyze you if you land weirdly on your back or neck.

  5. While trampolines CAN be dangerous, it is usually because they are not used properly, or the user attempts moves that are beyond their ability.

In fact, the back does not particularly get injured.  The trampoline is a low-impact exercise apparatus and is considered less dangerous than riding a bicycle.

Safety net trampolines are advantageous for obvious reasons - you can't fall straight off.  You can still hurt yourself though.

In order to keep totally safe on the trampoline, the best thing to do is learn how to trampoline properly in the first place, and ensure you use it properly (no jackass style tricks or lots of people on the trampoline at one time.)
