  1. its  called  "the monkey business"...

      monkey see monkey do

..So..  if  your a  monkey  you  follow  the  "trends"..

If  your  other.. your  usually an " Artist"

so  avoid the  trees   those are for monkeys!!

  2. Cultural globalisation is simply standardisation of culture around the world.  For example using the same language (english both british and american dialects), products (coca-cola, ford motor vehicles), computer language (c programming language), computer operating system (unix and windows), keyboard for typing on a computer (qwerty keyboard), free election of officials (democracy), etc.

The only way to avoid this is to keep folks in poverty.  Without trade there is no globalisation of anything.  Folks can go back to living in grass huts, freezing and starving, and watching their kids die before the age of 5.

Globalisation mostly means keeping the good parts and discarding the ridiculous inefficient stuff.  Europe has many quaint cultural divisions, and is proud that people have to be multilingual for day to day business, and are so up on "international affairs".

The truth is that america has 50 states all with the same language, similar laws, one frequency for electrical power distribution, one state department, one fda, etc.  National news in america is "international news" in europe.

So the price of avoiding globalisation can be enormous.  (Just catering to two languages in Canada is really expensive.)

  3. I think an additional aspect of cultural globalization that is important to mention is that many cultures are contributing, not just one.  In the answer above, the author states many of the ways that American culture has indeed been globalized.  However, for example, if you look within American culture, you will find aspects derived from numerous cultures.  With the inmigration of people from China or Mexico we are infused with different types of food or music reflective of those countries.  Eating chips and salsa is a common practice for many Americans now.
