  1. Generation X are the current 30-45 year old adults that were created during times when drugs were "cool".  There was a war going on (i.e. VIETNAM) and people were fighting for civil rights.

    Generation Y came from this past generation and are currently around 15-25 years old.  They think drugs are "cool" because this is what is said on a song or in a video.  There was/is a war going on (i.e. DESERT STORM or IRAQ INVASION).  People are fighting to put gas in their car.  

    They are called the "Y" generation because when told that they have to support themselves/and their own children  all they can say is...WHY?


  2. Chronologically, it has been defined as someone born between 1980-2001 (estimates vary). I'll let someone else handle the cultural aspects.
