Can you delete an xbox 360 account and make a new one with the same name?

i have a xbox 360 live account.. i want to restart the account.. eg gamescore and everything.. if i delete the account from the dashboard memory thing.. will i be able to make a new acount with the same name???

yes once you delete your account the name becomes open again, so you'll be able to choose it, sometimes there is a grace period before the name can be used again/
