  1. Root Beer is NOT minty.

    Root Beer is NOT like black licorice. I actually love Root Beer while black licorice is extremely discusting. There is no way I could love Root Beer if it tasted like that.

    Free is correct. But I have not had sassafras or sasperilla so I don't know from first hand personal experience. Unless you have had it there simply is no way to describe it. It is unique and quite good.

  2. Root Beer was originally an infusion of sassafras, ginger, sarsaparilla, lots of sugar and other herbal and rooty flavors but there's no actual 'root beer flavor' like there is apple flavor; each maker has their own recipe!

    And while we're at it - what's the flavor of Coke?

    It's always sweetened, these daze with high fructose corn syrup and always carbonated.

    Birch Beer is similar, although the main ingredient is birch sap.

    Rootbeer has nothing to do with beer.

    Something to think about ::

    What flavor is bubble gum flavor?

    How would you describe the taste of a banana besides saying

    'Why, that tastes like a banana!'?
