  1. Basically, it's about the politics of securing legal protections for women's rights, re-structuring society to better accomodate women, making deals with the Big Boys, and telling the Good Old Boys . . .

  2. That's a big NO.

  3. To me, feminism means equal treatment for everyone (notice I didn't say equal rights, as we mostly have those already). I want a guy to be able to stay home without catching flack from his buddies about being a house-husband. I want a woman to be able to have kids and a career without people saying she's selfish. I want a woman to be able to stay at home and proudly raise her kids and to feel like it's "enough" without being judged as lazy or unambitious by her friends.

I want all these things. It's about equal treatment. For right now, in the shadow of our patriarchal past, it's called feminism because women are in the need of the most support and help to achieve their goals without fear of reprisal. In the future it might be called Equalism.

  4. Moral philosophers who long for a more just world.

  5. It means that you hate that your a woman an feel you need to try an become a man. Men like women who love themselves not the false sense of love that fems say they have.  Men want a women who loves kids an them not themselves.

  6. Okay, everyone -- feminism is simply the belief in equality between men and women.

    Period.

The notion that feminism is about female superiority is a myth. The notion that feminism is about women wanting to be men is a myth. The notion that feminism is about women not being happy with themselves is a myth.

It's about having equal opportunities and facing all those men out there who are afraid of strong women. Not to be rude, but the notion that this issue is "laughable" makes you sound uneducated, uninformed, and downright ignorant.

Hmm ... does it make you upset to be so afraid of strong women?

Just so you know, ad hominem is an attack on the person rather than the argument -- and that's not what I did. I stated what feminism truly is, and then chose to end by letting you know how uninformed you sound by saying that feminism is laughable. I'm sorry, but it's the truth. My post wasn't an attack on you.

And the reason I am informed is because I do happen to be educated. I happen to have a college degree, and graduated Summa *** Laude (if you don't know what that means, in layman's terms, I graduated in the top of my class). I've studied this stuff ... just a little FYI.

  7. Feminism = gender inequality.
