  1. The Enlightenment is the term given to a movement that was during the years 1750-1800. It involved the rejecting of 'Medievalism' like old views regarding religion.

    It was a movement which aimed in society moving forward, and this included science being perceived as fundamental for unlocking all secrets- the idea of reason. Isaac Newton was an important Enlightenment figure, who introduced the theory of gravity, showing that it was natural forces, not divine intervention that kept a finely balanced natural order.


  2. It was the great awakening of minds which brought about things like the American Revolution, the French revolution among many other things the effect of this movement was to revolutionize the way men thought. Before men thought like robots after men thought for themselves and democracy in Western Europe was truly born.

    In this period men began to think freely and gave utterance and wrote of there discoveries which lead to many changes in the life of the 18th 19th and 20th centuries
