Can you describe what tobiko tastes like?

This is for people who know what it tastes like. I just had it for dinner (in sushi) and it tasted a little like rubber, salty, and a little like plastic. I hope its good and not spoiled. What does it taste like to you?

P.S. tobiko is the little orange fish eggs. Thanks!

Hmmm, it's typically slightly salty but shouldn't have a very pungent smell to it. The taste kind of reminds me of that taste you imagine from taking a deep breath of salty sea air.
