Can you determine the states of matter by looking at the periodic table?

  1. Yes, in the one used in classes. Gases, liquid and solids are clearly indicated.


  2. it is mostly memorization:

    Hg (mercury) is the only liquid metal. Bromine (Br) is the only other liquid.

    The diatomics (Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Oxygen, Fluorine, Chlorine) and the noble gases are gas.

    The rest are solid.

    like the other people said, if you're lucky you will get a periodic table that tells you.  

  3. periodic table that we use in schools in that metals non metals are clearly indicated with different colours and symbols.
