  1. I'd take a fecal sample to be tested.  That way you can be sure to use the correct dewormer.

  2. If you see a worm in her manure and you just wormed her, then I would recommend doing it again with a different brand of de-womer.  I noticed you said it was a different kind of worm.  You may want to get a dewomer that is for a different  type of worm this time; as well as purchasing a different brand of dewormer.  After you deworm her, pay close attention to her manure for the next few weeks to see if the dewormer helpeld.  You may want to check with your vet if you continue to see worms of any kind in her manure.  I hope I helped!

  3. Its a bad idea to over-worm.  Are you absolutely sure the worm in the dung came out of the horse and didn't migrate there from soil?  You could check your horses worm burden by having a worm egg count done (ask the vet about these).  The counts don't check for tapeworm so if you want to be thorough you can have an ELISA done for that if you want.  Check out the blog part of my website www.soloequestrian.com for a bit more on new thinking on worming in horses, but overall you should be trying to reduce your use of chemical wormers as much as possible to try to avoid problems with resistance.

  4. Don't chance it . Call your vet and ask him or her! If it was mine I would use zermectrin gold. It costs more but is great on a broad range of worms including tape worms.

  5. Deworm a horse every 3 monthes! Call the vet if you see another worm in her.

  6. Hello,

    My input:

YES, but make certain you are rotating the wormers!  You don't want to keep on using the same one!

GOOD eye, I haven't seen any live worms in our horses manure before....

EDIT***  Don't use the same kind, and make certain the one you rotate with has DIFFERENT ingredients!  THAT is the thing to rotate.

EDIT-EDIT***  IT will not hurt her to do it again this soon!

  7. I would ask the vet first just to be sure that you can do it!

  8. Call a vet if you see any live worms and see what the vet has to say

    I've tried paste wormers

and yes you always rotate your wormers each time you worm

but the best is a wormer shot from the vet it kills everything

because worms will have your horse loose weight and worms can kill a horse

So as I said before it's something you need to talk to your vet about

  9. As long as you don't use Quest. Ivermectin is a good wormer and should get everything. If you see visible worms in her manure, I would say, yes worm her again. If you used any thing but Ivermectin, I would advise that you don't use that wormer.
