Can you die bt being hit by a car?

my friend is in the hospital and cant move and stuff cuz she got hit by a car last night...=[

It is possible, but if she is still alive and in the hospital I'm sure your friend will be ok. It's my understanding that if you survive the initial injury and make it to the hospital you have a much greater chance of survival. Hope she is ok.

Your friend's life is ruined for the short term...She can't do sports, go dancing or to the mall...She is stuck in that bed...She will have to convalesce for a long time...Then she will have to make up any school that was missed...Her parents will have to make sure that her medical bills are covered...And if they sue the driver of the other vehicle, they will have to take time off from work to attend court...If your friend is crippled or paralyzed, she will be dependent on someone to take care of her...She will not able to get around by herself for a long while...And if she dies more than 30 days after the mishap, she will not even be a statistic of motor vehicle fatalities.

The two reasons why people die from getting hit by a car (or any large moving force, for that matter), are

1. Brain or spinal damage

2. Internal bleeding

If your friend is coherent and is visibly alive, be assured that their brain and spine are alright.  Their spine may be hurt, but they would still live.

As for internal bleeding, the doctors will have to check for that.  With modern technology, depending on their condition, they will probably pull through!

Of course you can die by getting hit by a car....that's kind of a silly question --- how much does a car weigh compared to a person -- even a BIG PERSON?  Do you read the news at all and how old are you?

Recovery process - body puts itself into it when it is repairing itself - same priciple as 'black out', being knocked out is your bodys way of taking the steeling wheel of you =]

If your worried, talk to the doctors there - they can answer your questions but by the sound sof it they arn't dead already so recovery seems likely

yeah you can....i didnt i got hit by one he'll be fine probably just a week in the hospital he probably just broke a couple bones ribs arm or leg.... thats what happened too me plus a concussion he;ll be fine don't worry just visit him and cheer him up it gets loney in the hospital all by yourself

Depends where you get hit and how fast the car was going. Also if the glass broke andgot into you, if bones were brocken, etc. I hope your friend will be okay!
