Can you die from riding a roller coaster

i know it sounds lame, but after watching a movie, i've been afraid to ride a roller coaster. so can you die of one?

If the roller coaster is at fault then possibly. But those rides get maintenance checked alot and if there was a chance of anything happened, they would shut it down. Think of the thousands of people that ride roller coasters everyday and the worst that happens to them is they throw up.

yeah, i love final destination 3 !

they're supposed to be scary but think about it. the park is there to make money and if someone is killed they would be sued. and there are dozens of rides every day, people in front of you in line, people behind you, what are the odds that the one time you're on it anything would happen.

unless you have heart or back trouble or something like that, they are safer than the drive to the park.
