Can you differ your car payment while on maternity leave?

Can i stop making car payments while i'm on maternity leave??? i have a car loan through citizens auto finance.

As long as you are current on your payment, they will probably allow you to defer 1 or 2 months. I have done it before

No. I know that in my loan it actually states that you can't do that.  You may want to check your loan paperwork, but I think that's pretty much a universal thing.

No,you can't stop payments because you're on maternity leave...that's ridiculous...Like would you stop paying your mortgage because you're on maternity leave ??

nope.They won't even have mercy on you if you got laid off from your job. They expect the payments on time and the full amount or they will come and tow your car away..whether it be in broad daylight or in the middle of the night.

Maternity leave is only for work,nothing else...it sucks I know,but thats how it is
