Can you disable touch screen on tablet PCs?

Question

For when you don't need it? Does it work like a USB tablet, where you can just close its function in Windows Task Manager?

It's a laptop I'm about to buy, which has one of those screens that can turn, and is about 12inches.

TabletPC's come with different screens.

Some have touch screens. Most have electromagnetic screens. Some have both.

The only ones I know of that have the ability to turn off the touch screen are the dual screen models.
