Can you dive after getting your dreadlocks?

im getting my dreads end of this month and im scheduled to get my advanced open water diving certificate this December. Can my dreadlocks handle the stress of getting in and out the water etc.

I got dreads and I dive. No problems, just try to get them properly dry once in a while. If you are doing pool stuff and get chlorine in your hair, wash it after each dive, when it comes to saltwater, just leave it in. Saltwater makes your locks look great and speed up the process.
