  1. You can dive in a 4' pool as long as you know what you're doing, but as 8' should be okay- especially of you go in at an angle rather than straight down.

  2. I tell my kids and grand kids that if you want to grow up and have all your fingers, hands, arms and legs work to not dive in any residential pool even one with a board.

Too much downside.  If you want to dive, go to the high school pool with a diving well and have fun!

    You're welcome!!

  3. yes, i can dive into a 4ft pool so i would say an 8ft pool is ok

  4. She can just have her be cautious when she dives.

  5. Depends on the height of the diving board, but I'd say from a regular "household backyard" sort of swimming pool, it is safe (Olympic pools,  diving depth area are about 15 feet, but they do jump from that hight tower).

  6. no you can not. it is VERY dangerous! i am a red cross certified lifeguard for the city of seattle. you are not allowed to dive in a pool that is less than 9 feet. PLEASE don't let you're little sister dive in an 8 foot pool.  She could hit her head and have a spinal injury

  7. yes, you can, just don't do a deep dive.

i can dive in a 3 feet pool but i don't advise it unless you have had alot of swimming/diving training.

  8. I am pretty sure you can not off a high diving bored though my cousins have one and i think it is 8 feet deep with a diving bored if it is a public pool with a life guard ask the life guard just be careful

  9. well...you can but i dont think it is the best idea if you are on like platforms or something REALLY high...and maybe you could do whatever tricks you do and then go in feet first then bend your knees after you are underwater so you can go down further.

  10. Yes she can. All residential  pools  that have been built with a diving board, are ok to dive in the deep end since it's actually law in most places that the pool be 8 feet six inches deep and the design of the slope ( bottom of the pool) not allow a head first impact against the bottom for a typical dive.

If this pool was built by a pool professional, it will meet those standards if it has a board. If there's no board, I bet if you check, you'll see that the pool is still 8 feet six inches deep and has a gentle enough slope (pool pros make them that way just in case someone wants to install a diving board later), fine for a normal dive from the deep end toward the shallow end  if it's a normal pool.

If this is more of a decorative or lounging pool, check the depth first. This type of pool tends to be shallower and isn't meant for diving. Not even shallow dives.

One thing to remember. NEVER dive in the shallow end of any pool.

  11. if you are experienced you could do a shallow dive but it doesn't sound like you or your sister is, no offense, so i wouldn't do it.  its not worth the risk of a neck or head injury.

  12. I don't think it would be safe.Don't do it
