Can you do same cheats in pokemon yellow as blue and red?

Like I remember there was rare candy cheats and such in blue...can you do the same in yellow? Or did they tighten up on it

Nah they have different codes but its the same kind thing you have to do where u replace the xx or ?? with a number

No.  I have Yellow and I tried doing the cheat, but it didn't work.
