  1. Depends on the phone and network. With decent phones you can use any type of common audio file as a ringtone and it can come from any source.

    See http://mosh.nokia.com for some free ringtones, send them to your phone and see if they work. The service is available for any phone, not only Nokia

    they have free ringtones or you can  create your own...

    they send the ringtone in a messaje

    or you can use a usb cable o bluetooth to tranfer it to your phone

    they also have other options
