  1. Yes.  However, you would have other problems to deal with such as food and shelter.  In other words just drinking melted snow will not enable you to survive unless your other survival needs are met.

Take a look at the site below.  It gives you instruction on the proper and safe way to drink melted snow as a water source.

  2. You can but you have to be very careful about it because eating snow or drinking melted show will introduce a good amount of very cold water into your system.  If you don't have all of the equipment necessary to keep you warm you might end up lowering your core body temperature and doing more harm then good.  It is better to fill a cantine with snow and store it close to your body until the snow melts and then drink it when it is warmer but don't do that any more then you have to.

  3. Yes put you have to be careful - do it slowly if you are cold.

  4. you can drink melted snow but don't drink too much. Also know that the snow came from the clouds that contains dirt and dust.

  5. You sure can but please, please, please avoid it if the snow before melting is yellow.

  6. Yes, and I have done it many times without melting it.  There is a risk of hypothermia if you eat too much that isn't melted at one time.  If you are warm and walking, it isn't much of a risk.  If you are cold and shivering, it is a bad idea.

  7. Yes, just make sure it's not yellow.

  8. yea but it would be pretty cold.
