Can you drink soft drinks during a "coffe break"?

just wondering...could you drink soft drink or other beverages during a "coffe break"?if you can,then why do they call it as "coffe break"?

Yes, you can! They call it "soda break"(kidding!)

They call it coffee break coz its like the tradition way to call a break between a hectic schedule. Before, coffee is the most popular drink during a break but now it's soda.

Yes.  Coffee break is just a term to usually connote drinking coffee.  You can not smoke during a smoke break or not use the restroom during a bathroom break.  It's up to you but if they call it a break, people won't understand the length of time and think it's an hour break.

Its just the name given for a break...in India we call it tea break..so hardly makes a difference,what you drink...

now you can drink anything you like,or even eat what you like, it was many many years ago you could only drink coffee if you didn't you could have been hung for it hence the name "coffee break" x

It's a coffee break because that's what used to be available in offices to drink.  Now many offices have refrigerators or vending machines and drinks come in portable containers so you can drink almost anything.

"Coffee break" is just a common way to break the monotony of the day and i guess any beverage of your choice is entirely up to you! I know that I usually grab a double shot of latte just to get through it!
