  1. What is a state side?


  2. You need a german or european driver's licence to drive in Germany. Some licences such as the canadian are also accepted. You have to check with your embassy.

  3. Yes, you can rent a car with your Stateside drivers license.  

    But if you plan on living in Germany, you will have to get a European or German license.  

    Or if you work for the U.S. Govt. in Germany then you can get a special U.S. license to drive in Germany under the Status of Forces Agreement.
