Can you drive in other States on a CA driving permit?

My mom and I are traveling to Tennessee on vacation and I recently obtained a CA drivers permit. Does anyone know which states honor these permits and which do not? The DMV websites are useless, I can't find anything.

they told you that in drivers ed.    no.

The permits are NOT recognized in any other states.  They are temporary and for learning only.
