Can you drive into canada with a birth certificate and lisence no passport??

also i am 17 i am going with my boyfriend and his friends do i need a parental letter becasue i am not 18?

  1. Yes you can use your  birth certificate and license.

    You will need a parental letter as you are not yet 18 , they will need to put that they are aware you are traveling to _____ with ______ staying for this period of time and then it will need all their contact information so that if the customs officer has any questions he can contact them, it is always better to get it notarized just so there is no question to the legality of it.

    Edit....they may ask for the letter and they may not but it is always best to have it just in case, because it makes for a huge hassle if you don't have it and they have to contact your parents.  

    Having a passport makes life so much easier at the border but it is not required for driving as of yet into Canada.


  2. You don't need a passport yet.  You wold have but it was delayed because not every1 could afford one yet.  Just make sure you have what you listed.
