Can you drive to Boliva?

Just something we were shooting around at work. Most people said yes just want the truth

Simple answer...  No, it is not possible.

The fact that someone has made it through the Darien in a Landrover on an expedition doesn't mean that you can drive through the gap.

Also there is NO ferry service from Colon to Colombia.  I think that a number of years ago (at least 7 years ago) there was ferry that had service between Colon and Cartegena but most deffinately not any more.

It has been done, but you need a 4WD to get through the Darien Gap (assuming having to take ferries don't count) which is very dangerous due to rebel activity and drug smugglers. I'm not sure why the trailer full of gas would be becessary.  You can buy it along the way, in every little town, for crying out loud.

If it is OK to count the ferry, then it is very easy to get there along the Panamerican highway.  Would take about 2 weeks if you really tried.

Yes you can.. but why?    Go across 5 borders with a trailor full of gas for your own vehicle.  Then try to drive across the locks (bridge) in Panama...Now you only have 3000 miles or so to go..  It's geographically possible, but ....why?

Technically, you can drive from Alaska to Punta Arenas (in Chile) as there is a route (except Darien gap in Panama). From any place in the States you can drive to Bolivia. Of course no one in their right mind would do that! Crossing many borders, jungles in central America and thousands of dollars in gas and lodging!!!!

Yes you can, but there is a small stretch in Panama where there is no road (the Darien Gap) but you can take a ferry to Columbia from Colon.
