  1. I'm guessing you mean from not for. I suppose you could try, but I sure wouldn't want to. You'd have to drive all the way through Mexico, which going into the southern part aint the best, and I think also through Guatemala. That would be one h**l of a drive.

  2. Sure you can... it will take you a couple of days, but you sure can!    It's about a 7 days journey.... depends on where you are in the US and where you are going to Belize.

  3. It takes about 3.5 days of driving from Brownsville Texas, at about 12 hours of driving a day.

I have driven it twice, the roads in Mexico on which you will travel, are "OK", sometimes fast multi-lane roads but too often just two lane roads. You dont have to travel through any other countries (going through Guatemala is an unecessary long indirect way to get to Belize).

Belize makes it a major hassle to bring a car into the country and expect to fill out forms for an hour or two at the border. If you are visiting for over a month you have to go to the capital to fill out forms on the vehicle and that takes most of a day.

Driving by road in Mexico for long distances is getting better and better. I have seen MAJOR improvements in the last 15 or so years. Not 100% safe but not a whole lot worse than in the USA. The main problem is that it is not all freeway travel, and except on the toll roads driving at night is not a real good idea in Mexico. (due to animals, pedestrians and other road hazards not banditos).  The most dangerous parts of Mexico can be avoided on such a trip (Mexico city and remote parts of Chiapas).
