  1. If your car has  an automatic transmission, it should not be a problem so long at the cast does not rub against the brakes.  there is no law forbidding you to drive with a cast on.

  2. if you drive an automatic you shouldn't be using your left foot, anyhow.

If you drive a standard, you're just out of luck till you heal.

  3. Vehicles with automatics don't require drivers to use their left foot at all. If you drive a stck, it probably would be a good idea to make sure that you can engage the clutch without hitting the brake pedal.

  4. It's possible.

  5. Small town girl, I hope you are only driving in small town.

But if you were to get into an accident, you will probably be found to be guilty no matter what (as soon as you step out of the with cast on your foot.  I'm assuming you are talking about manual shift.

If you are talking about auto, then it is a non-issue.

    Good Luck...

  6. Two authorizations are required - one from mom & dad and the other is from your doctor...Let the dr. know if any meds you are taking make you drowsy or if there are any side affects...If the doctor says OK, make sure you get a temporary (red) handicap placard...You need a form from the motor vehicle dept (check online), signed by your dr., then returned to the dmv...Usually good for 6 mos.

    Hope you feel better soon.

  7. you should not if it is a manual transmission or if it is small and the cast could be in the way of the brake ...

as far as convincing them ...  just have one of them ride while you drive ...  basically, prove it to them ...

  8. If the vehicle has  an automatic transmission, there is no reason you can't drive even if your left foot was missing altogether.  Common sense says you never use your left foot driving a vehicle with automatic transmission.  As for convincing your parents, perhaps one (or both) would agree to accompany you on a trip around the block or around town so you can prove to them that you can do it.

  9. Yes you can drive, plain and simple...

  10. As long as you don't have to work a clutch, you should be able to drive normally.

  11. If you drive a vehicle with an AUTOMATIC transmission, then you can still drive, legally. You will have to be careful of course when getting in and out of your car. You only need your right foot to drive an automatic transmission vehicle, unless  your parking brake is on the floor and to the left side......in that case you'll have to apply it with your right foot.

You'll have a few issues with your crutches or cane too.

Go out and drive with your parent to prove that you can do this.
