Can you drive your parents' cars with a permit and no insurance?

So if you have your permit, do your parents have to call the insurance company and change anything? Or is it legal to just start driving their cars (with them of course)?

  1. You cannot drive any vehicle without insurance.  Once you got your permit, your parents needed to add you to their policy.


  2. If you are going to be a driver, escorted or not , and you have a permit, it is best that your parents get a rider on the policy until you have a license and are of age.. They should cover themselves for they are responsible for the actions of a minor.

  4. They should inform the insurance company that you have a permit and will driving their car with them.  

    They do not need to add you to the policy or pay anything extra until you have an actual license.

  5. They should have you on the insurance.

  6. You can if they let you,but if you get in a car wreck you will be you may have to pay to get the car fix since you are not on your parents insurance yet.
