Can you drop off packages in drop off box at the post office?

I sent my sister to drop off a small package (CD box) with a software I sold on eBay, and she didnt know you have to go inside to give it to a person, so she dropped it off in the drop off box INSIDE the post office where it said letters. (There is a slot for letters and a pull open tray thing for dropping off big letters and envelopes) It had USPS Priority postage paid on it (I used Endicia) so its paid and has delivery confrimation on it. My question is will they seperate it and send it to the right place when they collect it, or will it be sent back to me or something?
