  1. You simply can't dye polyester at home.  But you can dye nylon with either Rit, cold water dyes or natural dyes and it's very fast (it doesn't wash out).  If the polyester fabric/material is crucial to your project and you can't substitute it for nylon I don't know what I would suggest...

  2. Not really, to dye Polyester you need high temperatures above atmospheric. It can be done at the boil but you need to use carriers (special chemicals) that are not generally available to the public. You might be able to get it to stain with some dyestuffs but the fastness will not be good

  3. you shoot it in the rite spot and everything can dye

  4. i think yes.......

  5. No, polyester can't be dyed. It's a form of plastic and won't accept the dye.

  6. Yes, you can dye polyester from pink to purple, even if it is non-woven, as long as it has not been treated to make it water resistant. However, you cannot use any ordinary dye that would work on natural fibers. You can only dye polyester with a special dye that is made only for dyeing polyester and other synthetic fibers.

You will not be able to buy polyester dye locally. You will have to mail-order it. Two good sources in the US are PRO Chemical & Dye in Massachusetts, which sells disperse dye for polyester, and Dharma Trading Company, which sells a new brand of disperse dye called iDye Poly. (Don't get the regular iDye which is for cotton; be careful to get the iDye Poly, which is for polyester.)

Once you've gotten your polyester dye, you will need a very large cooking pot to boil it in. You cannot dye polyester at room temperature. It works best if you boil the polyester in the dye, or even better use a pressure cooker. However, you should never reuse a cooking pot for food, after you've used it for dyeing fabric, because fabric dyes are not safe in food.
