yes you can. The simpliest way is to boil them with piece of lemon and some salt. Than serve tham with a hot dip.

The easy answer is yes. In France they are known as L' escargot, and are usually served with a small fork to help pull them out of the shell.

You will generally find them served with Garlic butter (beurre d'ai) or on their own. The one thing that you need to remember is that they will normally have an inedible cover over the very end of the 'foot'.

As for taste, they are wonderful, but something of an acquired taste. If you like seafood, then you must try them.

Maybe get them as part of a seafood platter (assiette de fruits de mer).
