  1. Yes as long as it is cooked thoroughly and as long as its not sushi or any raw fish. And I'm sure you arent suppose to eat it all the time.

  2. I wouldn't eat can tuna and some fish would b okay

  3. Yes but Tuna you should only have TWO servings in an entire week. Other fish is ok to eat whenever.

  4. Not a whole lot but yes it is safe : )

  5. Yes, I think you're just supposed to keep it under 10 ounces a week and don't eat fish that eat other fish like shark or swordfish because they contain a lot more mercury than other fish. I know 10 ounces doesn't seem like much, but fish is so light that if you only eat fish once or twice a week it's really ok. I looove fish so I was sure to verify all this info with my doc as soon as I found out I was pregnant. She said just make sure I don't eat sushi at all. ;o)

  6. There are some fish you should stay clear of due to the high mercury levels in them; shark, swordfish, king mackerel, or tilefish. You can eat in moderation (less than 12 ounces a week), shrimp, canned light tuna, salmon, pollock, and catfish. Because albacore (or white) tuna or tuna steaks are higher in mercury than canned light tuna, it's recommended that you eat no more than 6 ounces a week.  I just read this off of the food guideline that my doctor gave me. Hope this helps!!

  7. Yes, you can eat fish and tuna when you are pregnant.  In fact it has Omega 3 which is very important for you and your baby.  However, due to the mercury level in farmed fish you need to purchase line caught fish and tuna.  You can purchase line caught tuna in the can at Wholefoods or Wild Oats.  You still need to limit the amount of wild caught canned tuna you eat however the mercury levels are much less.  Also, I have found that Trader Joes has good prices on frozen fish that is wild caught rather than farmed.  Farmed fish are breed and raised close to shore and in close quarters.  They tend to be higher in mercury due to what they are fed as well as because of being breed and raised in close proximity to shore.  You need to read the labels on the fish and cans and usually have to purchase them offline or at a health focused grocery store.  Check out these websites for more info and amounts of tuna that are safe during pregnancy.

  8. i say eat what you want! if you are craving it, you need it! espically when you are preggo!

my hubby would totally disagree with me which is why i used to go to my nans for lunch when he was at work and have tuna and fritz and all that yumy stuff that "they" tell you not too!

(who is "they" anyway? and why do we have to listen to them!)

  9. Fish like shrimp, canned light tuna, salmon, pollock, and catfish are fine as they are low in mercury.

Just try to minimize your intake of "steak fish" like tuna, shark, swordfish, King Mackerel, or Tilefish (yeah I know, you eat them all the time LOL)

Avoid crude fish too (sushi, smoked salmon, etc)

Do not eat more than six ounces of "white" or "albacore" tuna or tuna steak each week.

Do not eat more than 2 servings or 12 ounces total of fish per week.

    ;)

    Congrats x*x

  10. Yes. Fish is one of the best things to eat at anytime.
