I used to eat 700-900 calories a day - I want to eat more healthy now since school is almost starting - like around 1000 calories, but I'm scared to death that it'll make me gain weight.

Is it possible to eat a little more, but not gain?

  1. 1000 calories is still restricting. If you eat more your metabolism will speed up. You may eat more and lose weight. Going to school will probably increase your activity levels which will also keep you from gaining.

  2. 200 more calories a day? are you joking......you need to eat more....1000 calories is not a lot

  3. you really shouldn;t eat more less than 1200 calories a day because it cause your body to go into starvation mode. you might gain a few pounds, but not much. as long as you eat complex carbs, lean meat, low-fat/non-fat dairy, fruits, veggies, and mono- and poly- unsaturated fats you'll be eating healthier. avoid high-fat fried foods and processed foods like white bread and pretty much all junk food

  4. I didn't eat properly for a period of time...I was only eating around 500 calories a day. The key is to *gradually* work your way up to eating 1000 calories. This way, your body will feel more comfortable and normal when it's gradually working it's way up to the desired amount of calories you want to take in. So, with this being said...You may just want to gradually take in a tiny bit more calories each day until you work your way up to your goal of 1000 calories. I really hope that this helped you!

  5. I just eat everything, and I'm cool. You have to gain a little.

  6. arent you meant to eat like 2000 or something a day?

that means your like halving the intake of energy

    and thats bad for you.

if your body needs more energy then you are consuming you will lose weight at first

then you will start to lose muscle and gain fat

because there isnt enough energy to maintain mucle mass

you should be eating the normal amount so your body wont have to do things like that.
