Can you enter France with a Swiss permit B?

I have a Swiss permit B and in June I'm visiting France with a school trip. Do I have to make a French visa like making an English one when I go England? I'm Thai nationality by the way (even though I'm half Thai, half English).

  1. yes you will need a shenghen visa as a Thai national with Swiss permision B in order to enter France since Switzerland is not yet part of the Shenghen countries.get more info at your nearest french consulate

  2. If you are Thai, yes, you need an Schengen visa.

    There is an exception if you are holding an passport endorsed  British Citizen : visa not required.

    National THAILAND (TH)          /Residence SWITZERLAND (CH)

    Embarkation THAILAND (TH)       /Destination FRANCE (FR)

    FRANCE (FR)

    Passport required

    Visa required.

    However, if passenger is:

    - in transit through the Schengen Area (see TIRGL/SCHS );

      and

    - continuing their journey (incl. other modes of transport) to

      a country outside the Schengen Area; and

    - holding proof of residence:

    visa not required for a max. transit period of 5 days.

    Passenger must hold:

    - return/onward ticket; and

    - sufficient funds; and

    - documents for return/onward journey.

    Minors up to/incl. 17 years of age may be included in parent's

    passport, provided travelling with parents.
