My friends is convicned she has failed the Chemistry exam she took today and as she is expected all A* at GCSE it led me to wonder if you can get bad exam results "erased" from your records. I mean , if you apply to uni they can look up your results and would see all the great ones and then maybe one really bad one. Is it actually possible to "get rid of" bad results to pretend the exam never happened, and if so how would you go about doing this?

  1. she could retake the exam if she does get a bad grade but there is also coursework which can increase the grade.

dw im erasing my french grade cause i know that ive done bad.

  2. is it possible that she take the exam again and get i better score to REPLACE the other one not DELETE it

  3. You don't have to disclose your exam results unless they are your English, Maths and Science for GCSE. The rest go on points. Just put the one's that are good, or retake!

It's a real shame that in universities the highest you can get is 40% for a retake (uni. of Leeds anyway)

  4. No unfortunately you can't.  Uni's go on points though, so if she gets A* 's for everything else, she should be ok.

  5. I took this exact same exam, and came out crying. I'm supposed to be predicted an A* and all of my friends are predicted A*s too, and there were others crying as well. It seems that this was an exceptionally hard exam, so I'm just hoping with all my might that they lower the grade boundaries because it was so difficult. Tell your friend not to worry, I'm in exactly the same position - dying to go to Oxford or Cambridge, and panicking majorly that my chemistry result is going to prevent me from doing so. Apparently, Mum said one of her friend's sons managed to remove a GCSE result from his record, so I'm sure it is possible somehow.

Good luck to everyone expecting their results in August (scary)!! =]

  6. u can on ur CV i always list my good grades and ignore the rest.

uni's usually go on points so if all the A* got her good points i dont think the low grade would matter
