Question:

Can you exercise your body without working your mind?

I have a theory Im working on.

I think the biggest problem most people (like myself) have with exercising is... its hard work and its boring.

I dread the treadmill.

But It heps if i can keep my mind of of the work while im walking. Watching a movie while walking helps a little.

But what if I could take it a step further...

what if I could chose this time in the day to do something very entertaining (while exercising) that would totally take my mind away from the work my body is doing it?

And what if with enough practice I would be able to take my mind to a place where Id totally forget i was exercising and walk away with memories of having fun (or something)

Anyway just something Im playing around with. Any ideas?

Id like to totally separate my mind from my body when I work out.

  1. I have this attitude problem too.  I hate to use my crosstrainer because I find it boring.  I need to exercise because I have high blood pressure.  So, I placed a TV in front of my crosstrainer and looked at my favorite soaps, or listen and look MTV, while I exercise. But then it is beginning to get boring too. I think I will go to a fitness center and do there my exercise.  I like to watch/observe people.  One hour watching people while exercising --- I think this will be enough until I begin to get bored again.

  2. This is going to sound really stupid but have you considered taking up a sport.  Then the focus is on the competition and/or teamwork and the exercise really becomes secondary.
