  1. It's free and fun if you like Pro Football.

  2. real people that join a league to compete against each other by selecting the best players they can and form a team

  3. Hi Stephanie,

Fantasy Football is a game which allows participants (e.g. players, teams, franchises, etc) to build a roster of NFL players and compete against other participants in head-to-head play throughout the NFL football season. ‘Teams’ can build a roster in a variety of different ways depending on how the league was created, but serpentine draft and auction leagues are the most populate. Teams generally take turns picking players until all of their rosters are full.

Rosters are finalized during the NFL pre-season, then during the regular season each fantasy team plays one other team each week and the team with the most points wins the game. Teams accumulate points based on the statistical output of the players they choose to start. Teams in fantasy football have a roster of roughly 15 players, but only a subset of those players start each week.

Similar to the NFL, most fantasy leagues have a playoff system where the best teams compete in an elimination tournament at the end of the regular season to determine the league champion. There are many different varieties of fantasy football, but almost all leagues follow these general guidelines.

Fantasy football is also an excuse to watch every football game during the entire football season because every game (even those involving the most boring teams) has value if it involves players on your fantasy roster. It's also a great excuse to talk trash to your friends and flaunt your vast football knowledge. Essentially, it provides a platform for men to prove who is the most knowledgeable football fan. It's lots of fun.

    Hope this helps

  4. It's where a group of about 10 nerds gather together or online and draft random actual football players.  Their stats are accumulated after each week of games and tallied into points (i.e. TDs are 6 pts., FGs 2-4pts, rushing yards are 1 pt per 10 yeards, etc.)  Rules differ between leagues.  You can trade, cut players, or add players.  You usually go head to head with some other guys team.  It sounds retarded, but is actually a good time.
