  2. You'd need a few encyclopedias and some really clever people to explain it, and then they couldn't give you all the answers.

    The universe isn't only made up of matter, it's also made up of space, and time, and you can't have any of them without the other two being there. Matter is the bits we can see, so it makes sense that this is the bit that's easy to understand, but even the bits we can see are mostly empty space, and it's only time that makes them look solid. What the universe is really made up of is a strange thing called energy which no-one really understands but which is an earth bound scientists way of combining matter, space and time.  

  3. It might be because of the Big Bang. The theory of the Big Bang states that an intensely focused energy erupted in a cataclysmic explosion and expands Because of this focused energy, matter was born.
