Can you explain me what is freshman,sophomore,junior and senior in American school?

Freshman = 9th grade. 14 years old going on 15. Year 10 everywhere else.

Sophomore = 10th grade. 15 years old going on 16. Year 11 everywhere else.

Junior = 11th grade. 16 years old going on 17. Year 12 everywhere else.

Senior = 12th grade. 17 years old going on 18. Year 13 everywhere else.

The freshman are called fish.  (you already read what the years are) and they are picked on.  I had to push pennies down the halls with my nose, I got swirlies (head in toilet) and my lunches being stolen.  Being a sophmore made you slightly impervious to the seniors remarks.  The fish" had their own hall, and we had ours.  I didn't find out where the JUNIOR hall was until I got there.  Once I was a Senior, I didn't care about the underclassmen like my "elders" did.

I hated school.
