why racism is so bad but nobody gives a d**n about sexism or homophobia?

I cannot understand why some sorts of discrimination are still supported

What I don't understand is why would you make such a generalization.  It upsets me when anyone discriminates against anyone because of race, religious belief, s*x, age, sexual preference, being fat or whatever.

Because it makes them feel bigger.  If you know that someone is worse than you, you feel bigger, cooler, better, kind of like how a bully works.  Bullies are just geeks trying to be bigger.  Racists are just low lifes trying to be better than everyone else.
